Here is the link from DTS on how to enable this feature.
NOTE: THIS WILL REQUIRE THE CUSTOMER TO HAVE THE LATEST PLAY-FI UPDATE AND AN AMAZON ACCOUNT.
https://play-fi.com/faq/entry/how-do-i-set-up-alexa-on-my-play-fi-system
Here are the steps explained in a little more detail:
- Have/create an Amazon account
- Customer must have an Alexa device like Echo, Dot etc. to speak the commands to.
- Ensure all Play-Fi products are joined to the network, updated, and named.
- Go to the Amazon Alexa setting within the DTS Play-Fi app.
- The app will walk the customer through what they need to do which is:
Download Alexa app to mobile device/tablet if not already
Enable the DTS Play-Fi skill in the Alexa app
Scan for new devices
The Play-Fi devices will now be populated into the “Alexa Network” using the name it was given in the Play-Fi app.
If this name is the same as some other Alexa enabled device on the network (for example a Cadence named Living Room and some Philips HUE bulbs named Living Room) the MartinLogan device will have an icon of a speaker next to its name versus an icon of a light or whatever else it may be.
Here is how you would now use voice commands to interact with your Alexa Enabled ML products:
- “Alexa, play “XYZ” in/on “name of MartinLogan device.” So for example: “Alexa, play Africa by Toto in Living Room.” “Alexa, play Linkin Park in bedroom.” Etc.
- “Alexa, volume up in/on “name of MartinLogan device”
- “Alexa, volume down in/on “name of MartinLogan device.”
- “Alexa, volume “1-10” in/on “name of MartinLogan device.” (Sets volume to a preset level with 1 as the lowest and 10 maxed)
- “Alexa, pause…….
- “Alexa, mute……..
- “Alexa, next track……
- “Alexa, previous track……..
- “Alexa, stop playback in/on…….
The customer can also set the default music service used for voice control within the settings of the Alexa app. Otherwise the default will be Amazon music instead of other linked accounts like Tidal. Alternatively you can tell Alexa which service to use:
"Alexa, play Bohemian Rhapsody on Tidal...."
