On some of our older models it is possible for the panels to slip down. 

These panels are held in place by pressure from the trim. Over time the foam that provides cushion and grip loosens and eventually gravity wins. When this happens, it puts stress on the panel wires and can damage them.

We have developed a solution for this that we call "stat stops". Please see the attached Stat Stop Installation Guide also attached the Panel Replacement Instructions. Use these to reposition the panel. If you need to replace the foam tape, the best, cheapest option would be to go to a local hardware store and get weather stripping. It doesn't have to be identical to what's already there; it just has to be close and fit.

While the panels are off, check the wires for any damage or disconnection. Pay special attention to the solder connections at the panel. Most of the time, this can be fixed, but may require special instructions.
